Lady set to dump her church after deacon complained about her haircut

It is common news that African churches, especially Nigerian ones, are big on their congregation adhering to strident rules pertaining to dress codes. While some are quite liberal, others are not as certain things like women wearing trousers, dreadlocks on men, sleeveless dresses on woman are banned.

This issue is clearly reflected in the story of a Twitter user identified as Adeola who recently took to the platform to reveal how her church deacon reacted to a photo of her with a low-cut.

She stated that her haircut has led her to consider switching churches. This is coming after the church deacon advised her to cover the haircut with a wig or a hat, when attending church.

She wrote: "Deacon in church saw my picture with the haircut and told me to wear wig or hat when coming to church. Me: I’ll find another church that can accommodate my haircut! I am who I am, you can’t change me.

Happy Sunday o jare."

As is the norm with most church related issues in Nigeria, the post garnered a lot of reactions on the Twitter platforms as a lot of people expressed their support for her decision to leave the church, tagging the deacon a hypocrite.
